Music Together with Spanish
This class offers the exciting opportunity to have a Music Together Family class with the addition of Spanish translations of the songs! We will go through the same song collection as the regular class, but will sing songs first in English, and then in Spanish. Dr. Ana Trevino-Godfrey will teach these classes.

Music Together with Hebrew
This class offers the exciting opportunity to have a Music Together Family class with the addition of Hebrew translations of the songs! We will go through the same song collection as the regular class, but will sing songs first in English, and then in Hebrew. Cantor Francyne Davis Jacobs will teach these classes.

Family classes are open to children from birth to age 5, grouping children of various ages to foster natural, family-style learning. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching or exploring musical instruments. Babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Family Class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister.

Babies classes are offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together, focusing on activities and materials specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about musical development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn engaging music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.

Guitar for Grownups was designed for parents and caregivers of children currently enrolled in a Music Together class. In this 60 minute class, you will learn basic guitar technique and songs from the current song collection so that you can make even MORE beautiful music at home. September Children’s Performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre

September sees four performances for children at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Miller presents “One Night in Frogtown” on September 12 at 11 a.m., “Totally Vocally” featuring Ball in the House on September 17 at 11 a.m., band Imagination Movers September 18 at 11 a.m. and “Swing, Jive and Pop! Into Dance” on September 25 at 11 a.m.

“One Night in Frogtown” celebrates cultural diversity through music. Tad, a saxophone-playing frog, sets out to discover the source of the faraway music that only he can hear. Along the way he meets blues, classical and rap frogs, who enjoy playing music with Tad, but seem unable to appreciate music that is different from their own. Tad brings the frogs together for a spirited jam session.

Disney Junior television stars Imagination Movers visit Miller with alternative rock for pre-schoolers. Formed in New Orleans in 2003, Imagination Movers is a fun, vibrant band that concentrates on writing and releasing songs and albums for children.
“Totally Vocally” features a cappella group Ball in the House performing classic and contemporary cover songs and original works.  The interactive presentation helps audience members explore aspects of music and performance, and explains the technology behind the group’s sound system and how their voices fit together to make harmony, songs and beat boxing.

Houston Metropolitan Dance Company’s “Swing, Jive and Pop! Into Dance” incorporates history, fashion, music and the arts in an interactive blast of excitement.  The company dances through the eras of the 1930’s Lindy Hop, bops into the 1950’s, grooves into the 1970’s and ends with the hip hop music of today.
